Tabletop, a professional milestone

We achieved a professional breakthrough with our product named MIRA Tabletop which could revolutionize the traditional measuring methods of the lens fitting process of glasses.

After long years of research, we developed a technology within the optical industry that could be used for precise picture-based distance measurement. Later it turned out, that the product we have created, unfortunately, did not match the one the industry needed. We recognized that a deeper understanding of the problems of the industry participants was crucial for a breakthrough.

A change of mindset to be more customer-oriented

Due to our change of perspective, customer orientation came to the forefront of our priorities. The various professional exhibitions and expos where we had the chance to meet the leading industry actors and our current clients in person were extremely helpful throughout this process, as we were able to get a deeper understanding of the obstacles they had been facing.

This is how we received the feedback that small optician shops do not have enough space for large measuring equipment such as the MIRA Tower. Usually, optician stores buy one single device for lens fitting which in practice often slows down the selling process. The waiting period for the availability of the machine, the time it takes to walk up to and start the device; these all take away from the precious time of both the customer and the optician.

We admit that during the development of our previous services we did not pay enough attention to the speed of the measuring process. As we later found out, opticians prefer using traditional measurement methods because of their speed compared to digital solutions.

New product in the light of feedback

These kinds of reactions inspired us to return to the drawing board to create the MIRA Tabletop with the previously mentioned needs in mind and to further improve our existing services. The Tabletop is the smaller and more affordable version of the optical measuring tower and it assists opticians in the fast and precise measurement of the lens fitting parameters. This enables optician stores to sell single vision and progressive glasses more efficiently and with a reduced possibility of errors.

We can declare that as a result of our development process, we are moving towards a point where we can provide actual solutions to existing problems.

We reached a milestone in the course of our work. We managed to reduce the length of progressive measurement to less than 2 minutes which is in line with the duration of traditional measurement methods.

Thanks to the new version of the MIRA Professional and the AI algorithm, our solution is not only more precise than most of the traditional measurement methods used in most optical stores, but it is also at least as fast as them.

According to our tests, an optician who uses the Tabletop and our app confidently can measure 11 lens fitting parameters in 55 seconds.

Our goal is to continue with our change of perspective

We wish to review our current services in all areas of the MIRA brand in order to establish a truly extensive, client-oriented product line.

We are curious to see what the future holds for us. But until then, we keep working hard and continue paying attention to the industry participants so that we learn more about the ways in which we can help them.
